Fabulous article with so much information that was completely new to me. I’ve come across a lot of material lately advising us not to eat some of these foods, especially legumes because of the lectins they contain. So disappointing since I love them! Now I know there are easy ways to prepare and enjoy these nutritious foods by lessening or eliminating the offending components. The three sisters method immediately stood out to me because my husband has started a garden at work employing this EXACT METHOD! He had explained it as the methods of the local indigenous peoples. He’s also making the cooking vessels they had, using their exact process. He is sourcing local clay, crafting the same tools used and firing them in the earth (no kiln here lol). He says you both are likeminded! I’ll have to show you pics.

I love waking up and reading these articles. Having slept through most chemistry classes in school, I find the content interesting, informative, and amusing. When we lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin, we were introduced to a great Chilly Recipe where the Chilly was served over pasta and the beans were served on the side, where you could mix them in with the Chilly. Usually Red Kidney or black Beens, the restaurant must have used the methods detailed in your article, because they tasted great and never presented any problems. The musical fruit! Who Knew? Obviously The Medical Underground. Thanks! Tom D
